Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has large frills on its head.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Frilly Boy and his sister Frilly Girl are the naughty children in the cave. They are well aware that they are Special, because of there rare frills, and they both love to play jokes on the other dragons. Frilly Boy likes to paint rocks to look like fish, and feed them to the unsuspecting adults; it has now got to the stage where, when he offers them a REAL fish, they refuse it and he wanders off happily chewing on it and giggling to himself.

He also likes to play mancala, and collects particularly pretty shiny rocks to put in the holes on the board he has drawn in the sand. The trouble is, Frilly Girl isn't keen on the game, and the other dragons are so fed up with him that they won't play.
