Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Wredna is a whiny brat and a nerd in the most negative interpretation imaginable. She wants everything handed to her on a silver platter, she knows no loyalty, and has no backbone to speak of. The other hatchies often can't articulate the reasons for their immense dislike of this hatchie, so they claim her obsession with math and science (actually her most likable character traits) are weird and nerdy and link her social incompetence to those interests.
