Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...
Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Kuddzu was named after an invasive species of vine. This little hatchling tries very hard to be ferocious, but isn't very successful. She isn't old enough to go fully underground yet, and isn't quick enough to be a good land hunter, so her diet consists mostly of plants and scraps from the older Dragons. She wants to be just like her mother and father, both very violent Vine Dragons, but still has a long way to go. Still, she spends a good hour each day sharpening her teeth and practicing her scary faces!
