Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

While swimming around the island home of Shield Tail and Dark Drakon's herd, Nessealia came across a dragon egg that didn't look like it would make it. Instead of ignoring the egg, Nessealia brought it to Shield Tail, and under the care of the dragon herd, the egg was able to hatch. Because of the hatchling's recovery, this little green dragon was given the name Lucky Emerald Pebble. Unlike the other hatchlings, who all have a mother and a father to care for them, all the adults in the herd look after Lucky Emerald Pebble. Because of Lucky Emerald Pebble's endless curiosity and tendency to wander off alone, this joint effort of the adult dragons in caring for him is probably the only thing keeping him from getting hurt or killed.
