It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, Porphyrophiliac of the purple dragons. He is a male specimen, something thought nonexistent until recently. His story is rather typical for male purple dragons:  He left his mother as soon as he grew wings to make the toilsome journey into the mountains. There he lived with other males of the same age in a pack. The area was so bleak and barren that they had to fight over the food. Many of his pack died of hunger or their wounds but he survived. He grew into a strong, dominant and impressive male and instantly found a female to mate with when he came down to the treeline in his first mating season. They stayed together until the egg hatched, Porphyrophiliac hunting meat for her. The female left with the hatchling again for the plains afterwards. He retired to his cave in the higher mountains. It is suspected that such couples choose each other again each mating season.

The female he chose to mate with is a purple dragon known as Llilac.
