Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Dried Grass of the Savannah (Savannah Grass) is not unlike any other Ochredake. He prides himself on one of two things, his beautiful chirp and his beautiful mate. These two things are directly related to each other. If it weren't for his beautiful, drake-like chirping, Savannah Grass wouldn't have successfully courted his mate, Sand. The two got off to a bit of a rough start. Miscommunication often contributed to their lack of ability to produce viable eggs. However, they have since resolved such problems and are proud parents of multiple children. Savannah Grass can often be found with the hatchlings, teaching them to chirp and make beautiful music. On rainy days, Savannah Grass uses his long, golden brown wings to shield himself and his mate. Although he is a very simple-minded dragon, Savannah Grass is able to find joy in almost everything he does, especially day to day activities.
