Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the beloved daughter of Aussis and Bonfire nothing was too good for this dragoness—especially during her hatchling years. Only the best food, toys and education were good enough for Torqua, so naturally she was sent to Delirium's Academy not only for the required basic courses like all hatchlings of the clan but her parents gladly paid the tuition needed to enroll her in all the advanced and special classes.

No teacher in the world can compensate for lack of talent, dim wits, and a poor work attitude though. After years and years Torqua has visited all the classes at least once yet still she has no knowledge beyond the absolute basics. She was finally forced to leave when her teachers decided that no tuition in the world was worth dealing with her any longer.
