Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After the failed rebellion of the Districts against the tyranny of the Capitol, the President of Circenses decreed an annual tournament to be held in which sixteen tributes, two from each district, would be locked in an arena, only one of them allowed to leave alive. These are the Starving Games.

Luxury was named by her parents after what their district is famous for—luxury products. Unlike Craftsman, Luxury had not volunteered to join the Games but was forced to enter when her name was drawn. This came as a nasty surprise as her family had not actively supported the rebellion but tried to stay neutral instead.

From the very first days of training Luxury learned she was not made for warfare and knew she would not last long without the help of others. Instead, she began coaxing the tributes from District One and Two into forming an alliance. She could only hope the power of Craftsman, Blacksmith and Peacekeeper would not be turned against her. For a while, at least.
