Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A quiet, secretive dragon, this creature lives in the open plains, spending his days racing beneath the sun. Due to his wild nature and reluctance to come near human habitat, and so it seems odd that the locals would bother to give him, of all creatures, a name. But he has one habit that has led to this.

The trails through that wild terrain often become obscured, storms throwing dirt or weeds over them, plants creeping in, and as such travelers frequently become lost. But then this dragon will appear, snaking through the rushes to lead them forward to their destination before he vanishes back into the wild from whence he came.
