Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Jurgatha is Dragontown's first permanent ochredrake resident, having followed Darnos Spurfoot there when he established ties with the locals.  Other visiting drakes had been driven off by the city's pygmy dragons, who wanted to rid themselves of potential competition, but even the boldest wasn't about to attack a fully-grown bright breasted wyvern.  By the time Darnos returned to his flock, Jurgatha had found willing defenders among Dragontown's people and many of the other resident dragons, and quickly became a star attraction.  She has absolutely no fear of strangers, charms almost everyone she meets with her antics, and delights performing musicians by singing along.  Thanks to her, the pygmy dragons have finally realized that drakes are no threat to their status, and Jurgatha is now one of many to live in Dragontown.
