Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blood Stained Blades is an alias, hiding the now probably forgotten true identity of this particular wyvern. Blades is regarded as a psychopath, harbouring no feelings, good or bad, towards any living creature and sees whatever that breathes as just another toy to destroy. To even attempt to communicate within striking range is risky business and telepathic attempts are generally seemingly ignored as the wyvern either chooses not to or cannot speak.

Blades has lived out the majority of his life in isolation, confined to a small patch of land by a barrier initially set up by scared locals as they sought help. When help failed to, well, help, ties to Blades were cut. His closest friend is a rock, carved and marked from Blades' 'play'.

A few believe that Blades simply needs a compassionate approach to teach him about the value of life and feelings, but those few make an infinitesimal impact on the general agreement Blades should really be put to death.
