When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. The sole inhabitant of a massive river that empties into a lake within the colony's territory, Anfange is, despite his fearsome appearance, fairly easy-going and has simple answers for what he thinks are simple questions. In his mind, if you're hungry, you should eat. If you're tired, then sleep until you're well-rested. No complications are necessary: just do it! He acts completely on impulse, not bothering to think things through. To Anfange, musing over something too much results in making matters difficult. Besides, his instincts have seen him through too many times for him to doubt them, and he insists that others should do the same. It'd make life a lot more simple.
