Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Big Love in Small Package and Kickaz Pink had long considered themselves twin sisters until one day Big Love was grabbed by a human and was never quite the same. She had to watch as her twin grew large and soon became a beautiful adult Valentines dragon while she stayed the same size, although she did sprout wings. Kickaz spent a lot of energy on Valentine's Day encouraging Big Love to come with her to spread the love, but the miserable hatchling refused. That day, she mused over her life and realized that not all humans were to blame for the actions of one.

Unbeknown to her own sister, during the year she slips away into the human world to witness firsthand the human lifestyle. Her small size allows her to sneak around unnoticed and enjoy a wedding from the back pew or crouch in a tree, watching a young couple fall in love. Once a year on Valentines Day she has a special task set aside and heads into the hospitals and gives comfort to the terminally ill.
