Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

No one knows where Snowy came from. He one day simply appeared at the entrance to the healing caves and asked to be let in. Apparently Snowy is a rare victim of naturally stunted growth and he had hoped that someone in the healing caves could help him. For the longest time Vanilla Ivy as the expert on chronic diseases and others tried to help him, but apparently no magic in existence can counter the effect of Snowy's birth deficit.

Although he was quite disappointed, he also saw how much the healers had tried to help him and how dedicated they were to their work. Since the dragons here also were the first to ever treat him as the adult he was, Snowy decided to stay and help to the best of his abilities.
