Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Leonid is the most beloved dragon of Jekan Caverns. He is good at all dragonish pursuits, but not so good that he incites jealousy from the other dragons. He has a handsome appearance, a bright mind, a kind and thoughtful personality, and no enemies. He has done favors for nearly every dragon in his cave complex at some time or another, and is widely respected as a moderator of quarrels. Many of his female neighbors have secret or not-so-secret crushes on him, but Leonid is strongly pair-bonded to the white dragon Colombe de Paix. For some reason they all hold this against her, not him. Love can be a funny thing.
