Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Orpheus the Dark sleeps during the day and awakens only after the sun has set. As one of the two Ruda Clan dragons who are only active at night, Orpheus is awake during the day only to attend important clan meetings, in which he does not speak. As a result, the Ruda Clan knows next to nothing about his personality. The only thing they understand for sure is that he hunts during the night and uses his sharp vision to look out for threats in the darkness. Orpheus thrives in the night, stalking his prey patiently until the right moment to strike. He is completely silent, as if he and the night were one and the same, earning him the name Orpheus the Dark.
