Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The first of the hatchlings in the cave to be properly frozen by resident wizard Carnie, Rasuke sometimes wishes that she had not asked for permanent youth; she looks wistfully on as other hatchlings grow older, find love, have families and great responsibility in the cave. Calm, down-to-earth and mature, Rasuke has made it her business to help the guardians and parents to raise the eggs and hatchlings, giving other young ones advice and a listening ear from another child. The young storm dragon leads the other frozen hatchlings of the cave, organizing their home and special duties. While wary of the mysterious, sly zombie hatchling Szabaru, she will never forget his kindness to her in her first days of uncertainty and regret of her decision (whatever motivations might have been behind it other than friendship), and thinks of him as a sort of older-brother figure.
