Some of its magma has hardened, maybe this means something?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Krispi is something of an unofficial mascot for Mystic Mountain. He doesn't really contribute much to the illusion of mystery that the others work so hard to maintain, but he is rather cute, and his antics help to lighten the mood. Besides, he's better behaved and more reliable than some of the so-called Oracles, though he's too small to substitute for any of them.
