White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

All Ryrrh wanted was to find a small, isolated community where she would be respected as the one-and-only source of magical talent. Instead, she got Firesong Weyr, where she (not being a red dragon) is only grudgingly tolerated for her healing ability. To make matters worse, Ryrrh is an afterthought, called in only when the preferred healer, the red dragon Ruflig (who still believes that a plant's appearance dictates its curative potential) finally admits he's at a loss. Ryrrh only stays out of a sense of duty, knowing what harm Ruflig would do without a true healer to call upon. Otherwise, she'd have been off to greener pastures years ago.
