Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

There are few in the Durelen clan that can match Rolfy's energy and unbridled joy of life. Although Rolfy looks and acts like a regular hatchling, there is a definite air of mystery that surrounds this little Skywing. It has been many winters since the young dragon was first discovered and given shelter by the Clan, but even though its peers matured and grew up, Rolfy remains unchanged. While normally very social, on Christmas eve the little one prefers to avoid the festivities and spends the night on a remote glade eagerly watching the sky. Many questioned this strange behavior, but when they discovered presents waiting for them there the following morning they started to see it as a sign of good luck. The Founders suspect one of Rolfy's parents might be a legendary Christmas dragon, but none has any means to prove their theory, which leaves the eternally young Skywing's parentage wrapped in a veil of secrecy.
