Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems rather lazy.

And look! It’s gotten much larger and grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Crimson Firecracker received his name on account of a very strange mannerism that the other dragons in the cave fail to understand. Crimson was born in extremely poor health and with allergies to nearly everything in the cave. As a result, his growth is stunted, and he has an incessant habit of sneezing every couple minutes. Those closest to him have resorted to ignoring his problem, but others are curious as to why this occurs. These are not even ordinary sneezes; every time he sneezes, little bits of flame shoot from his mouth, singeing everything in their path.
