Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For centuries, Paralux's clan wielded the power of creation to triumph over evil. But the once-great clan was on the verge of collapsing at the hand of the one weapon that seemed to conquer all--- fear. Even the strongest warriors who had been taught since hatching to never give in to fear no matter how hopeless things appeared were falling. It soon became clear that the only way to save what remained of the clan was to surrender. His soul hurt from hearing the dying cries of his family but his pride injured in having to admit defeat, Paralux decided to try what no one else had had the courage to do: Steal his enemies' greatest weapon and harness the power of fear. But no one is immune to fear. Paralux may have had good intentions, but the foreign weapon twisted his will to match its own warped being. His mind ravaged, his will corrupted, and unable to watch his clan fall, Paralux retreated to a cave far away. Its exact location is unknown: even the trees are afraid to grow too close.
