Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Frozen as a hatching to be forever young and innocent, little Mana's Pride is deceptively old. She is one of the oldest dragons in the cave and makes it her business to pass her knowledge along to any and every hatcling in her home cave. Many of those hatchlings that go on to their adult forms come back to this small dragon to thank her and catch up. Not to mention nearly everyone offers her a flight atop their back or head so this forever wingless one can feel the joys of flying.
