This is a baby chick, not a dragon. So what was it doing in the dragons’ cave?

This chick's favorite friend, All Happinesses Leaving, is responsible for keeping the clan's half-insane exploits out of general gossip. Little Welcome, on the other hand, is responsible for keeping those exploits from happening in the presence of less, ah, understanding humans and dragons. The first line of defense for Kadoatie's clan—before even the door guard—Welcome has the unpalatable job of insuring reasonable people stay far, far away from the clan nest. She may not look capable of this important assignment, but her nips are actually quite likely to draw blood. She also alerts guardian The Last Warning, a much more physical manifestation of the clan's strength.
