Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rebas works as a cave guard, protecting those in the clans from wild dragons or any dangers that lurk outside the safety of home. Rebas is stationed at the entrance of the cave, recording which dragons are in and out at one time, so if anything goes wrong, he is one of the first to respond. Due to this position Rebas spends most of his spare time training. Rebas has never actually experienced any full scale emergencies, but occasionally a wounded dragon will limp back to the cave, and Rebas will sound the alarm, letting all outside dragons know that it is time to come to safety, and then swoop out with the rest of his team to locate the threat to the cave. The threat has never been more than an overly territorial animal disliking the dragon trespassing in its area, but Rebas both looks forward to and fears the day that it will be something worse. Rebas secretly longs for a proper fight, but at the same time does not want anyone to be hurt.
