Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lajazi is a sorely confused little dragon. Upon hatching, the very first creature it lay its eyes upon was a Green dragon, and despite the floppy frills that adorn its head, the youngling firmly believes itself one and the same. For a long time the various dragons of the Ash'del Clan have tried to show the youngling the error of his ways, something that only made him decide to steal some of the Clan's considerable amassed treasure and use it to pay a traveling mage for a spell to cease aging. Now, the forever-young Lajazi studies under Ard'ia the Unstoppable Force, struggling to learn the basics of magic that command the primal forces of the earth.
