Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Unusual in that she has little taste for gold, Hoatzel is nonetheless keenly aware that many other beings DO lust for it, and accordingly acts to make their dreams come true. Taking her task as a granter of luck very seriously, she seeks out treasure seeking humans and guides them (via mere half-glimpses of her through the undergrowth, or a flicker of wings overhead--subtle, mysterious, tempting them onward--) to forgotten ruins hidden deep within the jungle, stuffed with gold. Of course, if she let anyone actually TAKE said riches, she'd not have any more to lead people to. Accordingly no sooner do her hopeful victims catch sight of the goods than she snatches them up and drops them off hundreds of miles away, ensuring they'll never find the place again. Needless to say, she is thus as much a symbol of misfortune as she is the opposite!
