Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

A very quiet dragon, Quaint is the record keeper of Crazy's clan. His memory is superior to those of his clan mates, and his offspring with their clan and co-clans will likely carry on his traditional role of historian for their adoptive clans as well.

Quaint is very thankful for his memory, as Crazy asks him often to tell her of all the things she and the clan have done through the centuries. As the clan has little contact with the outside world on Crazy's orders, those stories are still few in number and most of the adult clan members avoid such re-tellings at all costs.
