Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Geode dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Quortsagod slowly descends down the mountain to the oceans edge. As the light plays off his crystal wings and into the ocean below a call is heard. It comes from deep in a cave where his first born is being laid. He calls back to his mate. They fit together perfectly. They're colors are the exact same shade of sky blue. They will be mates for life. This is rare in the dragon's world but when a Geode dragon finds a color mate they do stay together for life.
