Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It spends its time pouncing on insects.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It is also now covered in brightly colored stripes.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shiro no sutoraipu is always looking to the sky waiting for her parents to come back to see her. Even though she has made great friends in the cave, she misses her parents and wishes that she could see them again. She distracts herself by playing with other hatchlings during the day, but when everyone goes to sleep she sits out for awhile longer to watch the skies.

Her name means white stripes.
