And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Green Sapling is another of the steadily growing number of frozen hatchlings under Crystal's care. She has a very dainty frame, and is very pretty. She likes her own company, and rarely talks to any others, except a select few older dragons, including the nurser of the clan. The truth is, she hates the fact that she will never grow up; never have eggs; always be short and chubby, not tall and grown-up and beautiful.
