Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

If left alone for a few hours, Subpart alleviates his boredom by singing, loudly and shrilly. His masters presume that he must be part howler, but since he was caught wild in the forest and his lineage is unrecorded, no one will ever know. He is well trained enough that he requires no treats or gestures to obey commands. While Subpart cannot and could not ever learn to read, the oldest member of the household—and apparently the one with the most time on his hands—taught him to crouch in front of open scrolls and waggle his head as if he were studying the text. Onlookers are amused by this, and Subpart likes doing it for them, too, because they sometimes pet him and give him yummy peanuts.
