Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Amoura Dreamer always has her head in the clouds. She drops daydreams as she should, but is constantly busy with her own. She is always eager to share them with anyone who asks and though they end up being a bit scattered, due to her constant distraction, they are extremely interesting. Many of the other dragons from the clan have told her to try writing her stories, but she can't. Many of the dragons have tried to teach her runes and writing in many different languages, yet she fails to grasp the concept. The reason for this is because she suffers from something humans would call dyslexia, and a very difficult version of it. She has only ever admitted this to one dragon in the cave, the Stone Knight. He will take time to read her stories and write hers down. Sometimes her daydreaming and absent mindedness gets her into trouble, luckily her friends and clan are always there to help her out. Even in her wildest daydreams she can't think of a place she'd rather be than with her clan.
