Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Unlike most Royal Blues of the clan Vess' creative energy is not channeled into music and poetry but into painting and drawing. His favourite motif are the fae. Despite his huge claws his brush strokes are incredibly delicate and he captures the airy essence of the fair folk almost perfectly in his pictures.

Vess' best friend is the Daydream Gaiman and the two often inspire each other to new and even better stories and art.
