Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Denizen has a sweet tooth. Attracted by a loud buzzing one day, he was fascinated by bees that flew in and out of a beehive. He wanted to see what they were doing after they crawled inside, so he picked up the hive and cracked it in half.

     With his scales impervious to the bees stings, Denizen was unperturbed by the cloud that swarmed about him. Some of the honey from the hive spilled across his claw; the bees seemed to like it, so he tried a taste. Since then, he has been the bane of honeybees wherever he finds them.
