Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pasnar might only have a limited area of knowledge, but within that, he's an expert. He might not know that the sun rises in the east or that water flows downhill, but give him a body of water and he can list the main types of fish that live there, albeit with less confidence if it's somewhere he's never been or quite large, like the ocean. Pasnar is an expert on fish anatomy, he knows a dozen ways to prepare everything from salmon to eels, and he knows the best way to catch anything that ever went after a baited hook. If it doesn't involve fish in some way, he's not interested. One of the few dragons who doesn't find him dull is Gesnia. She talks to him about rocks, he talks to her about fish, and neither one really listens to the other.
