It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Bell is the mate of Luna-Bell and the 'first lady' of the Luna-Bell herd. Although, she doesn't truly love Luna. Every since she hatched, Bell has always had the desire to be loved and admired by everyone. She thought becoming the herd leader's mate would give her the fame she's always wanted. But, it didn't. Instead, Bell was forced to play nurse maid. Bell hates hatchlings and hates the head nurse maid, Peach Parfait, even more. She longs to run away, but her need for attention keeps her from doing so. She does cruel things, like killing eggs to gain attention. She cheats on Luna with any dragon she can. Everyone knows of this, but Luna refuses to believe it.
