Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Coal has a tendency of doing the naughty thing whenever given a choice between naughty and nice. After helping a Bloodscale find his cat, she kept the cat rather than return it. (The cat's not too happy about this!) After trying to deliver a love token, she lied about the answer to poor Romeo who now thinks his true love still loves him. Those three letters she was asked to deliver remain tucked under her mattress. Ned's reindeer never were located after the storm; Coal decided to go skate on the newly-formed pond instead. Naughty being the order of the day, Coal is never really surprised to find little in her Christmas stocking aside from the coal after which she is named. Maybe next year she'll manage to change her ways.
