Imperial Fleshcrownes are an active and playful breed. They are equally good at flying and climbing and while they are not good swimmers, they love to take an occasional dip. Fleshcrownes live in large social groups called “communities.” Adult Fleshcrownes share the responsibility of looking after the young, who are very playful and active. Even after maturing, they retain their curious and mischievous natures, often getting into trouble. The fleshy crowns on their head can be raised at will, and are usually erect when happy, excited, or scared. Fleshcrownes—being a very peaceful breed—are more prone to flight than fight. If threatened, they can raise their crowns while hissing in an attempt to scare off predators.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There is a continent where seasons are long and unpredictable, which are called "Winter" and "Winter Is Coming". Scheme of Seats lives in the Land of Nouns. Everything is Noun of Noun because those kind of titles sound so cool. Her community is one of dragons who are constantly fighting over the world's least comfortable chair. There's a giant icy army on its way, but the chair seems to be a bigger concern, for some reason. Also, there is one dragon who has a lot of humans on her side, so she could probably take the seat of power if she wanted to, once she arrives to the Land of Nouns. Anyway, Scheme of Seats quietly watches her brethren, friends, and other folks she might know kill each other over the uncomfortable chair. Whoever gets to sit on it decides how food is rationed. Because of the unpredictable but usually snowy weather, that is a plus to have, and no one can bicker and hit each other if they don't eat. All men must dine.
