Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Enchanted Eyes is a dragon that is part of a group of male and female Swallowtails. He is known by his dazzling eyes, which glow with a bright lavender light. He caught the attention of many dragons when he lived by himself, having to defend himself against any attempts to mate with him frequently. Enchanted Eyes found a way to stop it, however, when he joined a small group of dragons. The guard let him in without a second thought, and, even with his dazzling eyes, no one stared at him. All of the other Swallowtails talked to him like they were already friends, sometimes saying nice things that don't even pertain to his eyes.

Enchanted Eyes was shocked by the positive atmosphere in the group and, while he speaks softly, he was able to get a mate for himself. What made him happier was the fact that the female Swallowtail liked him for his mind instead of his bright purple eyes!

Sometimes he feels bad for the dragons who aren't allowed into the group, but he doesn't think long about it.
