Desipis Dragons are an extremely dangerous breed, synonymous with the paths of desolation they leave in their wakes. These gargantuan beasts are infamous for their innate ability to control and manipulate the minds of others, which they use to pulverize the sanities of their foes and forge false memories. This power is especially effective on the foolish, and only the strongest-willed individuals have been known to resist a Desipis’s cunning. Most who anger Desipises do not live to tell the tale. Desipis Dragons are especially feared for their uncanny power of absorbing the magic of others with the fire they breathe and converting it into the bright reserves of crystallized mana that decorate their bodies.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Enfranchisement is vying unsuccessfully for a position as a prime admin in one of the Seven Sufficient Districts and has been for some years. More powerful dragons and a lot of the little ones have been saying that they know her primarily for the bad things she's done and that she lacks the competence and patience for real leadership, which is rude and wrong. She's staunchly against doing bad things. She's not "good" in the general sense of the word, but she perceives herself as "the good guy who makes hard decisions and gets things done" in any particular situation. Enfranchisement's solutions to a problem, including someone arguing against her, usually involve magic, magic theft, yelling louder than the other party, and physical force, all fair tactics when she does them. She seems incapable of acknowledging personal responsibility for failure, and any problems she causes she attributes to unfortunate twists of fate beyond her control or blames them on others out to keep her down.
