Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gan Itai is amused that most of the other dragons view the cave keeper as kind. She is aware Tigress has tried to kill a dragon to create a zombie and is also aware the owner has plans of trying to neglect a dragon just to have one in her "collection". Unlike Ne'igalomeatiga or Brighthowl, she is not upset by this as it makes no difference to her (after all, for her to create her kind she has to attack another dragon's egg, she is not one for worrying about moral quanderies).

Gan Itai is quiet and content to watch the other dragons, most who are disturbed by her and her kinds' present (they are not happy there are three others besides her). She finds this amusing as well.

She encourages Aberthol in her pranks and would be friends with Jiriki but he seems to hold her in disdain (but not fear, she finds this interesting. But he is an odd dragon amongst them). Despite Jiriki's dislike of her she holds more respect for him than the other dragons.
