Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gilnerath leads a small tribe of dragons in the northeastern reaches of the land. His tribe looks to him as a religious leader for the preachings he occasionally gives. Though he is usually fun-loving and care-free, his preachings are a dead-serious foretelling of an apocalypse. Many of his followers are unable to see the truth of his warnings and instead bend his word of destruction into a vision of a world of infinite skye and no gravity to battle against.

He claims to know of this from the whispers that spoke to the ancient gods, and that he hears in dreams. He knows that the apocalypse is somehow linked to four heroes, but lacks details. He connects one of the four to dark magic, and it has become said that that one will come to bring the end of the land.

Gilnerath believes his tribe only worships skye because he glides high to better hear the whispers.
