Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Unworthy Gold was once a fine, proud Gold like any other of his breed, very popular amongst the females, especially during the holidays. His scales gleamed particularly bright. He was extremely handsome, and he knew it too. One day, a new female appeared near his lair, one he had never seen before. She said her name was Memerable. Though she was an Albino, she wasn't just any Albino; she was the Priceless Albino. Despite what he had heard about other Albinos, Unworthy Gold saw Memerable with different eyes. Her oily gleam enchanted him, and he found himself falling madly in love with her, swearing eternal fidelity to her and her only. In her presence, he felt inferior, almost unworthy, and therefore took on the name Unworthy Gold in honor of his new and only love.
