Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lexi is a well-read hatchling. His small size makes it possible to move around human dwellings and he uses his breed's major quirk to his advantage. He let himself be sold to a human librarian as a piece of art by a diurnal dragon friend. Since humans are diurnal too and the library is closed in the night, Lexi can roam undisturbed through the rows of the library at night, returning to his place under the huge window right before sunrise. The human librarian is none the wiser, she just wonders sometimes about books lying on the tables, obviously overlooked the night before.
