Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ever since her egg was found, none of the dragons accepted her.  SkullSplit is a vampire dragon, but she is very paranoid and timid.  This is because of all the dragons who harassed her whenever the cave's master was away.  Even the alpha, Omniwing, would do anything to make sure she knew her place.  SkullSplit is mainly found in the very back of the cave, isolated from all the other dragons.  All the other dragons were very protective of their eggs, knowing full in well she could kill them if she got the chance.  She was never that type of vampire though.  SkullSplit hunted at night for prey, and never once would think to bite any eggs.  She never had until the master came to her with a request; bite the egg of a recently found pink egg.  SkullSplit was shocked, but did as she was told.  She bit the egg, and it became that of a vampire.  The egg hatched, and the hatchling grew into the only dragon who would ever be kind to her; Lorusk Sangre.
