Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Iolitia ThunderShield (after the gemstone: Iolite) is the 200th Clan Mystal dragon, her presence the continuation of an unusual string of events for the clan cave. The Clan Mother remembers fondly the time for it was as if she heard nature call to her, summoned by some unknown magic. From her first few days as a hatchling, it was apparent that her-self proclaimed purpose was to serve as a buffer and thunderous shield to Seraphintia, and she spends her time doing little else. She is a noble dragon who takes her responsibilities very serious, constantly standing proud and true at her clan mates side. She is most well known for her answer to the regular swath of visitors that seek an audience with the mighty Tinsel. If weariness or fatigue appear, she conjures a barrier that sends electrifying shivers down the spine, and crowds quickly disperse when faced with such a wall of thunder and lightning. She seems content in her roll, and the life she has chosen as protector and shield.
