Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems very protective.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Jelly came to the clan just a few moons after Pineapplecuffs. At that point the dragons of the clan had already learned not to expect anything from a GoN. The silly antics of the older dragoness and her complete lack of comprehension of the things expected of her had taken care of that.

Jelly is actually a far better example for her breed than her "aunt", maybe not in power but certainly in attitude. She would do anything to protect other dragons, and she has the intelligence and cunning to do so most efficiently. Jelly understands fully well that the dragons of the clan are far best served without them knowing, so they won't start relying on her, giving up their own freedom. So she stays hidden behind her hatchling body and silly name, always ready to poke her "aunt" into the right direction should the need arise.

In the meantime she enjoys the carefree life of a hatchling though.
