White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Quartz Xouran is old and wise, yet still peaceful despite it all. It is the unwavering light in his heart that brought him to Ametrine, and that brought them together. Quartz has always shared Ametrine's policy of acceptance, despite background. Quartz has fathered many children, a number of whom have chosen to stay within the family. Quartz is usually the one the younger dragons go to for stories and lessons, since Quartz has accumulated a great deal of knowledge through the course of his magic studies.
