Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Against all odds, Buffy arrived in Verdant during a horrible local Lagmonster attack, and since slaying Lagmonsters is her secret calling, she handled the situation anonymously, with her certain speed and grace. While she quickly became friends with Mage Willow and Zander Hare Iss, she also attracted the attention of Angelus Roseus, and while she was intrigued she soon realized he is not the one for her.

She has a happy-go-lucky nature, and if it weren't for her fierce battles with Lagmonsters, Vamps and other demonic creatures, would be a very average, cheerful little dragon, like the vast majority of her breed.  However, her calling has given her an introspective wisdom and resolute determination that makes her a grim foe if she needs be.  No one understands, though, what it is that she sees in that one odd Lagmonster, Spike.
